I have always been curious about energy in the physical body and the power of healing through positive thoughts, balanced diet and physical movement. I discovered the power of yoga and pranayama (breath-work) early on and after years of steady practice under a mentor I undertook an apprentice style yoga teacher training.
I am proud to have been teaching yoga in Melbourne for 22 years and have continued further training in areas of Trauma informed practices, Yin Yoga, Children’s yoga and Special needs yoga and more recently Yoga for Menopause. I work with clients with physical health problems, chronic mental health conditions, neurodiverse and autoimmune disorders.
My dedication to my own yoga journey has supported me through the various stages of life, through major life and relationship changes and has more recently influenced me to work more intimately with the subtle energies of the body.
In 2019 I undertook yin training with Leonie Lockwood who as an advanced yin teacher taught through theory, demonstration and practice, a thorough exploration of anatomy and TCM theory that has forever influenced the way I teach and practice yoga. Her trauma informed, body aware and pragmatic approach was enlightening and a game changer!
Later in the year, I undertook an intensive sound healing training with singing bowls with Tabitha Dougall of “Lightly Centred”. It was here that my passion for sound and sound healing truly came alive. As a yoga teacher, I regularly incorporate sound into my classes, my Wednesday morning yin and acupressure class regular features meridian tuning forks, sound bowls and Chakra chimes.
Hi, I’m Georgia Karstens
My personal spiritual journey has seen me explore a wide variety of different modalities. My experience with the Chakra system over the years and my love of the 5 element TCM meridian system has led me to undertake further training in Kinesiology, I found the power of kinesiology when I was going through the “The dark night of the soul”. Kinesiology helped to unblock the darkness and shadow energies that were pervading my very essence. Once my eyes were wide open to the power of kinesiology, I undertook study during the covid years and my teacher and mentor “Sally” offered an environment of learning where all the students were able to thrive and allow for our individual “gifts” to shine through. Through regular exchanges with other students who have now become a close network of friends, we help and support each other in our own healing journeys, we regularly catch up to swap where we learn, release and surrender to each other as we dive deep into our own inner wounds, archetypal energies and energy systems.
Our kinesiology classes were based at The Australian Shiatsu College in Brunswick and took the opportunity and studied a unit of Shiatsu massage and introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine Meridian Theory. I thoroughly enjoyed the study and hoper to attend more of these in the coming years.
My love of Lomi Lomi Spiritual Hawaiian massage was born when a friend introduced me to the most magnificent body healing I had ever experienced.
My training focused on the extending touch with unconditional love (aloha), traditional prayer (ahuna) and flow of the innate life force (manna) in a gender positive environment that has extended my offerings to work with LGBTQIA+ community.
Lomi Lomi massage brings a connection of the physical body to energetic body - where the magical exchange takes place, always with a client’s “highest good” in mind.
My dedication to my practice has seen me not only develop my skills and knowledge, it has has also triggered my new found gift of channelling “light language” through my hands.
As a channel of energy, I use my intuition to guide my hands and draw in and release energies that help to shift blockages in the the energetic bodies. This allows for the natural healing to occur as the body is brought into equilibrium and the energetic bodies can come back to their harmonious natural state.
All energy is returned to “source” with the vibrations and frequency of love.
Tapping, Sound Healing and Reiki. These energy releasing systems underpin the techniques I use to help shift stagnant and “over” energy.
